It's (kinda) a pizza!

Hello Hello
:D
So I've been on my clean eating/ fitness lifestyle for a week now.
It's been hard.
But it's but very fun as well.
I've been experimenting with tons of different ingredients
and I came up with a pizza!
Well, technically I didn't.
I was looking at Blogilates website and I saw the ingredients for a flax seed crust.
It was soooo easy :D

1 cup dried oats (instant or rolled ok)
1/2 cup egg whites (you can also use 2 whole eggs)
1 TBS ground flax seed
1/4 to 1/2 cup water (approximate)
[Taken from Blogilates.com]

For the topping, I just put one spoon of tomato sauce, some kale, shrimp, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and tons of cayenne because I love me some HEAT :D

It tasted pretty good.
It wasn't pizza
That was pretty clear from the first bite :S
But it was good enough to satisfy my cravings.
Has anyone ever tried this out?

Clearing out the cobwebs

Tis been a while, Hasn't it?
But the break was needed
A lot has changed but the past is the past and
Now is now.

my feasty (tasty...oh so glutenous) food adventures?
I recently took a trip to Portland
The land of food trucks.
And this is what happened
:O
[Pok Pok, a very famous Portland chain. I don't really eat mammals or poultry so I couldn't eat anything except the turmeric fish which...was not very...nice. So no photo but the menu looks appetizing hehe]

[We stopped by BlueStar Donuts. OH YUM! Rather than a sensible one donut, we got three each..:O]

[This is from Tasty N' Alder. Do not judge this delicious blueberry french toast by my ugly photo of it. It was the BEST french toast that has ever touched my lips. I never thought a french toast could taste so...mouthwateringly delicious. A bit pricey but oh so worth it! ]

[I can't remember where I had gotten this delicious cupcake. It was a vanilla cupcake with vanilla bean icing and a vanilla pearl on top. It was in the Pearl District in Portland...but the name is gone from my memory :S ]

[Oh baby, these two dishes are from Screen Door. Delicious country southern style food. Everything was so thick and creamy and fried. Very fried. My mouth is watering just writing this. It was just too good]

[What's a visit to Portland, Oregon without a visit to VOODOO Donuts? I got the original voodoo donut, complete with a pretzel stake :D ]

[Typical Portland: Fresh. Local. Sustainable. Even their burger chains are based on this motto. This was a Tillamook strawberry ice cream shake. Very delicious and very environmentally friendly :D ]

Okay, end of blogpost. I got more to post but this is it for now.
It's great being back and I can't wait to get started on my new lifestyle change.

Rest in peace, Toby.

Today, I found out that my dog passed away.
My mother didn't want to tell me because I'm 6 hours away
and she rather tell me when I come back home
but there was something inside of me that felt that something was horribly wrong
so I confronted her and she confessed that Toby had passed away last sunday.
February 19, 2012.

See what happened was that we rented a house
but we weren't allowed to bring him
so my father gave him to his worker so she could watch over him temporarily.
Toby fell in love with her and her dogs and all was well.
But on sunday, Toby got a bit curious
and he dug under a fence and crawled into the next door neighbor's yard.
The dog next door was very territorial.
He was also 3x the size of Toby.
So he attacked Toby and bit him hard on the neck.
The owner of the big dog tried to protect Toby and hovered over him
but the big dog bit the owner just to get to Toby.
In the end, Toby couldn't handle his injuries
and he passed away.

I think what upsets me the most is that I couldn't be there for his last moments.
And that he spent his last moments in pain.
That's not the way I wanted him to go.
He still had so many years ahead of him.
He should have died an old dog with tons of kids
peacefully with me at home.

[Toby helping us pack while we were moving]

He was my first dog.
I got him when I was in the 4th grade.
I grew up with him.
I honestly feel as if I just lost a family member.

[Toby playing with my webcam features :D]

Rest in peace
Toby.

I love you.

Filth

I am living in utter filth.
Been away from blogger for a while because I've been having trouble adjusting to my living arrangements.
[Editing pictures now for makeup :D]
Mainly with my roommate.
Of course, this is a rant post.

First, the mess.
She brushes her hair and leaves hair everywhere!
She doesn't bother to clean it so they start to bundle up on the floor and make little families with each other!

The hair made it's way to the kitchen, in front of my door, and even my room! only because it sticks to the bottom of my shoes or feet >:O

The hair made it's way over to my weight scale in the bathroom.
Which is so lovely.
Really.

Another thing.
See those towels?
They've been there since september.
They haven't been washed either.
And now stink of decaying water or something.
Oh and there's suppose to be a spot for my towel
But every time I move hers over, mine gets thrown on the floor.
:O

Oh the infamous temperature problem between us.
See that note?
It says
"Can you wait till 11 to turn up the air please?"
Did you notice that the temperature is set at 66 degrees?
Did I mention that we go to school in the mountains
and the temperature is usually around 20-35 degrees every day?
And in the morning, it likes to tip down to the teens.
I WANT HEAT DAMMIT!
Honestly, this girl should live in an icebox!!
She opens her windows as well and leaves her door WIDE open so all the coldness can embrace me.
>:(

Okay rant's over.
If anyone is wondering, I've had numerous conversations with her on all these problems.
But I'm usually met with the silent treatment where she just doesn't answer.
OR
"I don't know what to say. I'm fine with it"

Does anyone else have the roommate trouble blues?

Continental Bar

Hello Hello!
There has been a lot happening and I haven't had the time to blog
so now that I do have the time
I think I'll catch you up on my life.

so few weeks back
my sister, cousin, my sister's friend, and I went to
Continental Martini Bar in philly
It's in downtown
you can hardly miss the place because there's this huge olive on top of the building
hehe
we had brunch there and I took a few pictures
enjoy:)

[Right when you walk in, you can't help but notice their abstract lighting. So beautiful and creative! ]

[So we sat down at the table and it was nice and cozy, loved the candles!]

[We got seated at a table but right behind us they had a table
that had swinging chairs! hehe we actually played with them a bit when we thought no one was looking :D ]
[There were lights hanging from the ceiling, so colorful and bright! but my camera is utter shit and I couldn't capture it well]

[So this was my meal, i got the veggie "big mack daddy" burger! delicious and those fries were so delicious, i even order extra. fatty!!!]

[My cousin got the turkey bacon club and then he took all our pickles which is fine because I hate them hehe]

[My sister got the chicken sandwich with..ermm..sorry I forgot :S]

[My sister's friend got the egg fritta, looks delicious!]

well that's about it
:D
The place is awesome, I think i'd love to go back for dinner
the only con is that the service is a bit
slooooooooooooow
:S

Oxygen

Hello Hello
Eeep! haven't been on here in a while
:S
my excuses are that
My family and I moved into a new place
and the new semester just started so just getting settled.
eh moving on!

I was looking through youtube randomly
and I found this channel account of a girl named
Anne-Marie

and she wrote this lovely song called
"Oxygen"
and she has such a soothing, raspy, gentle, lovely voice

I usually love finding artists on youtube
I feel that their work has more depth and passion
it comes from within them
Not saying mainstream aren't like that
but I can't help but feel some mainstream artists are a bit
generic?

anywho
enjoy the lovely song

Does anyone know any good artists are youtube?
love to listen!

Max Brenner, the chocolate bald man

Today my friend and I had a snack at
Max Brenner Chocolate Restaurant
:D
they make their own chocolate there
and it's so delicious
we went there at night time
and they turn down the lights really low
and the place is only lit by candles
and small ornaments

it was very hard to take pictures
so i had to turn up the sensitivity on my camera
and it turned out weird
and the quality is utter shit
but enjoy:)

[So my friend and I enter and the hostess seats us in front of the window which opens up. It had a little candle and a rose. At first we thought it was so cute but then we realized this setting was a bit too....romantic. eeeep! awkward o.O]

[People say that Max Brenner is like a real Willy Wonka! I think that's very true :D]

[yum yum yum]

[We both got hot chocolate! but look at all the different kinds!]

[This was my friends, she got the mocha with the milk chocolate]

[This is mine! I got the Italian thick hot chocolate. It may look a bit bland but oh dear lord it was DELICIOUS! sweet, creamy, chocolatey. It was heavenly.]

[We asked for our check and it came in this hehe
If you're curious to what it says
it says
"Money for life. Chocolate for the soul"]

[Because I didn't want to seem like a creep, I took a picture when the two other tables left hehe]

I absolutely love this restaurant
I think it's in couple of states
there's a site to see!
It's a bit pricey
it's definitely not a place to go daily
more of a place you plan, save money, then splurge:)

so that was my day
how was yours?
:D
